Join us on Saturday, June 11, 2022, for our annual Wear Orange event commemorating Gun Violence Awareness Month.

This year’s event is from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Jeremy Henwood Park in the City Heights neighborhood of San Diego. We’re collaborating with Shaphat Outreach for a family-friendly community gathering to honor the victims and survivors of gun violence.

Come for music, speakers, resource tables and activities for children. And come to meet fellow citizens who feel the way you feel about preventing gun violence in our community.

Orange is the color that Hadiya Pendleton’s friends wore in her honor when she was shot and killed in Chicago at the age of 15—just one week after performing at President Obama’s 2nd inaugural parade in 2013. After her death, they asked everyone to stand up, speak out, and Wear Orange to raise awareness about gun violence.

Do you want more information? Do you want to get involved? Do you want to donate? Contact us at team@sd4gvp.org.

We hope to see you and your family on June 11.
